Love the shading, but wouldn't there be a tad bit of purple/magenta on the hoodie too?

You'd think so! But as it turns out magenta light is actually made up of equal parts blue and red light, so when it hits the (blue) coat it absorbs almost all the red and only reflects the blue, which is what ends up reaching our eyes. Light is fun like that :D
